Purpose or Practicality?

I recently had this debate with someone and would love to know your thoughts... SCENERIO:

You are working a day job...it's paying the bills and affording you your current life style which is pretty comfortable.11954322131712176739question_mark_naught101_02.svg.med You don't hate it, as a matter of fact, you love the people there, but the work is just not fulfilling you.  You are going along as normal and suddenly you realize that it's not your life's purpose and your energy shifts and now you are starting to feel antsy, you begin to hate being there because something in your spirit says you should be doing something else.  You then figure out exactly what that something else is and now you really resent being at your day job.  Your spirit voice is screaming, "Leave your day job, live your purpose, take the risk," while your practical voice is screaming, "Don't be impulsive, you have responsibilities."  There is no real easy way to phase out from one to the other.  If you choose your spirit voice, you will have to take a leap of faith if you want to try to live your purpose and there are no guarantees.  If you choose your practical voice your life remains as is.

Would you choose to take the leap and live your purpose?  Why or why not?  And if yes, at what point would you leap; When you first realize you aren't living your purpose or when you figure out what your purpose is or at another point?
